How to Use Your Chakra Alignment Ritual Set:

Cleansing Your Crystals

 

Crystals work best when they are cleared and cleansed. Here are some easy ways to cleanse them:
  • Place your crystals in the sun for a few hours. Some crystals may fade if left in the sun too long.
  • Hold your crystals in the smoke of a burning cleansing stick until they are covered.
  • Put your crystals on a selenite plate overnight.
  • Bury your crystals in the garden for 24 hours. Remember where you put them.
  • Rinse your crystal under running water and ask for negativity to be washed away. Some crystals dissolve, so check first.

Smoke cleansing is closely tied to the spiritual practice of smudging by Native American / Indigenous Nations. White sage, palo santo, sweetgrass, and many other plants used for burning are considered sacred medicine by these Nations. They were forbidden to practice their culture, language, and traditions, including smudging, until 1978, when the American Indian Religious Freedom Act was passed. Even after this Act, Native American / Indigenous Nations have faced and still face ongoing persecution for various reasons. When purchasing sage and other plants used for burning, ensure they are ethically sourced. Avoid over-harvesting these sacred medicines.
